Share charters are very difficult to put together and as a result there are only a few boats in Kona that put together shared charters and they do 1/2 day (4 hour) shares only! In order to do a full day share charter, you would need to book two 1/2 day trips (and only if they happen to have two trips going that day). Share boats need to operate with a minimum number of passengers going out so if that number isn't reached, the charter is cancelled. Both of the share charter boats listed below also fillet the catch for their customers. Something you may want to consider when booking any Hawaii charter boat. The "Sea Wife
II" is a 38'
Delta operated by Capt. Chris Kam. The Sea Wife II is the only fishing vessel in Kona licensed to take more than 6 passengers and is able to take up to 18 passengers but, they limit the number of anglers to 8 so each fisherman has a chance. That means that "ride along" people who don't want to actually fight fish but want to come along for the ride such as the wife, kids, girl friend and such can go along also at a less than "angler" price. |
